Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the CPA Copilot application for iPhone (the "App") handles, and how. The short version: the App has no accounts, does not collect your personal data, and keeps everything it stores on your own device. Effective 19 September 2026.

1. Who We Are

The App is operated by CPA Copilot (the "Operator", "we", "us"), a trading name used by an individual developer. You can reach us through cpacopilot.net.

2. What the App Does Not Do

The App does not ask you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address or any other personal details. It contains no advertising, no analytics or measurement software, no crash-reporting service, no social features and no third-party software development kits that transmit data. It does not track you across other apps or websites, and it does not request access to your contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera or health data.

The App does not transmit your study activity, results or settings to the Operator or to anyone else. We have no servers that receive information from the App.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

To function, the App keeps a record of your own activity on your device: which questions you have answered and how, which flashcards you have marked, your sessions and their scores, your daily activity for the streak, and your preferences such as session length and sound. This information never leaves your device. It is not synchronised to other devices or to any cloud service, it is not included in the App's communications with Apple, and it is deleted permanently when you delete the App.

A small summary — the number of terms you have marked to revisit, your streak, and today's question count — is shared with the App's own home-screen widget through Apple's App Group mechanism. This stays on your device.

4. Purchases

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store using your Apple ID. Apple processes the payment and holds your payment details; the Operator never receives your card number, billing address or Apple ID credentials. To decide what the App should unlock, it checks the subscription status held on your device using Apple's StoreKit framework. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple provides the Operator with aggregated sales reports that do not identify individual customers.

5. Notifications

If you turn notifications on, the App schedules local notifications on your device: when your daily free allowance becomes available again, and, if you have not opened the App for several days, a reminder that it is there. The App decides what to schedule from information already held on your device, such as how much of the allowance you have used and when you last opened the App. Local notifications are generated and delivered entirely on the device; no information is sent to any server to produce them, and no information about whether you open one is sent anywhere. You can turn notifications off in the App or in iOS Settings at any time.

6. Contacting Us

The App has no messaging, feedback or support feature, and the Operator does not operate a support mailbox. Nothing you do in the App sends a message to us, and there is no channel through which the App transmits information you have written.

If you choose to contact the Operator through cpacopilot.net, any information you provide there is handled under the privacy terms published on that site, which is a separate service from this App.

7. Children

The App is intended for adults preparing for professional examinations and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Because the App collects no personal information through its normal operation, no such information is held; if you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Because the Operator holds no personal data about you from your use of the App, there is nothing for us to access, correct, port or delete on request; everything the App knows about you is on your device and under your control. Deleting the App deletes it, permanently and in full.

9. Security

Information stored by the App is protected by the security of your device, including its passcode and the encryption iOS applies to app data. The study content itself is encrypted within the App. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for securing your device.

10. Changes to This Policy

If the App's handling of information ever changes — for example, if a future version offered optional account-based syncing — this Policy will be updated before that change takes effect, the effective date above will change, and the App will draw your attention to it. The current version is always available in the App.

11. Contact

Questions about this Policy can be raised through cpacopilot.net.
